Highlights of ways CURE Childhood Cancer helped Mighty Millie in her fight against childhood cancer:

  • Open Arms Meal Program provides a family member and the patient a meal from local restaurants. These meals are some of the most direct ways families benefit from CURE Childhood Cancer. Meals are provided numerous times a week from CURE. This was a highlight for us and many other families during admissions. Some families spend so much time at the hospital that the available cafe and room service options can become routine. Having this change of pace is welcomed each and every time.

  • Funds the $9 million dollar Precision Medicine program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta which allows for more precise treatment and care plans for kids fighting cancer. Millie received this additional screening at no expense to the family and helped provide more information during treatment.

  • Early Diagnosis Outreach program connects with families at one of the worst moments in that families lives. Provides key information and resources that families didn’t even know they needed.

  • Professional Counseling sessions available to families battling cancer. Families need professional help and CURE is able to connect with extremely talented therapists to walk through this journey together.

  • Donated Toiletry Bags are distributed to cancer families who may have had to rush to the emergency room or were unable to pack an overnight bag. Supporters of Mighty Millie donated 364 individual toiletry bags in April 2021.

  • Provides grants for Fellows to help educate oncology doctors fighting childhood cancer.
